Driving without a ticket

Without a valid ticket, an additional charge of up to €185.00 must be paid. Schoolchildren and apprentices are also required to carry a valid ticket as well as a valid school or apprentice ID at all times.

If you are found travelling without a valid ticket and are required to pay the additional fare, please note that payment must be made within two weeks of the date on which the payment notice was issued.

Payment must be made to the bank account specified on the payment notice provided to you. When making the payment, you must include the following payment reference: Payment No.

If you happen to have forgotten your personalized VOR ticket or any required proof of eligibility at the time of a ticket inspection, this is not a problem. After the inspection, send us a copy or scan of the required documents at kontrolle[at]vor.at so that we can review your case.

Please note that, in accordance with the VOR Conditions of Carriage and Fare Regulations, the transport operators and VOR GmbH reserve the right to charge an administrative fee for the retrospective verification of a personalized ticket or other required documents.

Note on On-Site Payments

Please note that passengers who are unable to present a valid ticket during a ticket inspection have the option to pay the additional fare directly on site. If payment is made immediately, there is no need to record your personal data.

If you hold a personalized ticket but are unable to present it at the time of the inspection, you may generally submit proof of your ticket retrospectively within an applicable period at the VOR Service Center. In this case, the additional fare will not be charged.

However, you must provide your personal details and proof of identity during the inspection. This information is required so that your identity and the validity of your personalized ticket can be fully verified when you subsequently present it.

Please note that if you do not provide your personal data at the time of the inspection, it will not be possible to submit your personalized ticket retrospectively. As a result, the additional fare cannot be waived.
